Everybody Loves a Parade

When people put their best work forward, magic can happen. For architects, builders, and residential designers, a Parade of Homes is an opportunity to let that magic shine. This is where vision becomes reality. And for those touring homes to see the latest home innovations, it is a time to be inspired.

The 2016 Utah Valley Parade of Homes is just around the corner, and the team at Summit Creek is excited for another opportunity to share the development’s exceptional balance of nature and luxury. While preparing to host visitors and celebrate the growing Summit Creek community, this is also a great time to reflect on the successes of past years.

Summit Creek officially opened in June 2014 and the development immediately began to gain attention. Two Summit Creek homes have previously received the prestigious Utah Valley Parade of Homes Judge’s Choice Platinum Award. This award is determined by participating builders who judge on a peer-to-peer basis and select a winner from among the homes within their price tier. Scoring for the award takes five major categories into consideration: exterior, floor plan and layout, living space, design, and builder concept and workmanship. It is a real honor to be chosen by fellow builders.

Summit Creek’s Bellflower Model and Inspiration Home were chosen as winners in 2014 and 2015, respectively. These two homes beautifully demonstrate the quality and diversity available to homeowners at Summit Creek. The Bellflower is a signature Mountain Villa design by Darrin Bell of Babcock Design Group. The villa has a rustic, yet modern look and feel, conveying a sense of warmth and mountain chic. In contrast the Inspiration Home, designed by John M. Shirley of Think Architecture in Salt Lake City, is quite contemporary, with clean lines inspired by the minimalist approach of mid-century modern architecture. Both homes offer a number of impressive amenities and a few fun surprises. While they’re quite different in appearance and style, they both adhere to key concepts that inform all Summit Creek designs: existing in harmony with nature and maximizing views of the neighborhood and surrounding valley.

What does Summit Creek have in store for the 2016 Parade of Homes? Stay tuned to learn more in the coming weeks. The homes in the Utah Valley Parade will be showcased June 2 -18 from noon to 9:00 PM every day, excluding Sundays and Mondays. Mark your calendars!
