From skiing and snowboarding Utah’s most renowned slopes to sledding and snowman-building in the backyard, Summit Creek enjoys easy access to the best of winter sports and activities for all ages. And this year, a host of unforgettable snow adventures await at Woodland Hills City Park, set just outside Summit Creek’s gates.
Newly groomed by a handful of volunteers, the Woodland Hills City Park has recently opened for cross-country skiing and tubing activities. Beyond offering gorgeous views of snow-swept Utah Valley, its mix of open and wooded areas offers the ideal terrain for recreation. With over a kilometer of ski trails to explore—anticipated to expand to three kilometers in just a week’s time—and an exhilarating tubing hill to zip down with the family, the park welcomes a whole new world of nearby snow fun for Summit Creek residents. The park’s ski trails and the tubing hill can be accessed from either E. Loafer Dr. and E. Deer Meadow Ct.
Set at a higher elevation than Soldier Hollow (the Winter Olympic venue in 2002) Woodland Hills City Park offers a predictably longer season than most other municipal winter-use areas in Utah. In the near future, the park anticipates to also offer scheduled family ski days with free ski lessons, clinics and demo equipment to test—so stay tuned for more winter excitement ahead.
