Utah is renowned for many things—its national parks, fly fishing, unprecedented living in down-to-earth communities like Summit Creek. Not too mention the celebrated mountain resorts like Sundance.
Enjoying four full seasons—each of which deliver their own excitement for the whole family—there’s no shortage of year-round activities and special events at Sundance. Those fortunate enough to live close by reap the benefits.
Making Memories at Sundance Mountain Resort
Winter Wonderland: Skiing & Sundance Zipline
Skiing is perhaps a favorite activity of Utah natives, newcomers and visitors alike.
Owning a home near Sundance allows you to take part in this beloved activity throughout the winter season. This mountain resort is credited with some of the best skiing you can experience. And night skiing at Sundance is an incredible experience you’ll never forget.
Intertwined with the mountain resort experience are additional activities like the latest Alpine Winter zipline tour.
This Zipline at Sundance gives you a fun way to explore the mountain and take in breathtaking views of Mount Timpanogos.
Beyond opportunities for experienced skiers, the resort offers instruction for all ages, a Ladies Ski Clinic, Senior Ski Groups, Nordic backcountry skiing, snowboarding—even night skiing.
Not to mention, the resort offers additional winter activities such as an artist series and talks, along with live music and holiday-centric events. And, of course, the famed Sundance Film Festival takes place each January at Sundance Mountain Resort.
Spring Flings: Hiking & More
As the weather begins to warm and the snow season comes to an end, mountain living at Summit Creek takes on a new beautiful shape and, during this season, hiking is a must.
Stewart Falls, located at Sundance Mountain Resort, is a stunning trail that meanders throughout Aspen trees and ends at lush falls. And don’t forget the glacier atop Mount Timpanogos. Enjoy this beautiful 1.5 mile hike that bursts with colorful scenery in the spring and fall months.
For those who feel eternally changed by the beauty of Utah and eager to capture it through more than an Instagram post, one can visit the Sundance Art Studios.
Classes are offered year round and allow you to tap into your creativity, no matter your skill level. Beginners or even seasoned artists are encouraged to join these workshops and depict stunning Utah imagery that you can bring home to treasure.
Summer Stage: Theater, Music, & More
By the time summer is in full effect, you’ll see dozens of ways to enjoy living nearby Sundance Mountain Resort. Sundance Summer Theatre, for example, takes place at the Eccles Stage Outdoor Amphitheater all summer long.
This immense lawn is home to plays and musicals and draws crowds from both near and far. Mount Timpanogos provides a dramatic backdrop to the drama as local actors take to the stage.
Owning a home near Sundance also affords you a summer full of great music. The Bluebird Cafe Concert Series happens through July and August. This event features singers, songwriters and unsurpassed talent performing amidst the pines. Consider both of these memorable and necessary summertime events.
Fall Fun: Lift Rides, Live Music Nights
Living near Sundance Mountain Resort in the Fall is truly something special as the area comes alive with harvest-themed festivities. The autumn season gets a warm welcome with Full Moon Lift rides around the resort and live music nights at the celebrated Owl Bar.
The artists series continues and fun films play. For example, during November, the Redford Film Series shows films like Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid. Many of the activities during the fall season make their way indoors.
But there’s still the opportunity to step outside and take in all the beauty that the transformative season has to offer via scenic hikes and lookout points.
